22yo sensation opens up on 'Man United dream', he is set to join first-team soon

Manchester United loanee Radek Vitek has expressed his desire to play for the first team in the future.

Goalkeeper Vitek has put in extraordinary performances at Bristol City, where he is on loan for the 2025-26 season.

He is widely tipped for a promotion to the United first team next season after catching the eye with his superb displays.

The 22-year-old admitted that his current ambition is to play as many matches as possible for Bristol City but ultimately “dreams” of playing for Man United.

He said to BBC Radio Bristol: “At the moment the main goal is probably to stay here the whole season and play as many matches as possible.

“That’s my plan but I will do my maximum for that and we will see – let’s take game by game and now I’m focussing to play for Bristol City and do my best.

“One day it would be a dream to play for Manchester United but I take game by game and I know there’s a big challenge in front of me but I want to improve every week.”

The Red Devils have had serious woes in their goalkeeping department since the exit of David de Gea.

Andre Onana has made several errors between the sticks, losing the trust of the supporters and the head coach Ruben Amorim.

He was shipped to Turkey on a season-long loan earlier this summer.

Amorim trusted Altay Bayindir with the gloves but he also failed to make the most of his chances.

Both Onana and Bayindir are expected to be listed on the transfer market next summer.

United would prefer to offload them permanently but may have to be open to even loan exits.

Senne Lammens has looked composed and authoritative in his first few United appearances.

Vitek could provide strong competition to the Belgian international next season.

Standing at 6ft 6in, Vitek is a dominant figure in the box, known for his high claims and ability to launch long throws.

He has kept five clean sheets in the Championship this season, the joint third-most in the division.
