From Leeds United to Juventus in less than 2 years – January move floated for defender

Charlie Cresswell came through Leeds United’s youth academy and left the club for Toulouse in 2024.

The defender is now being considered for a major move and TuttoSport look at his situation today.

The Turin newspaper report Juventus are interested in the 23-year-old, who was seen up close by Damien Comolli at Toulouse until the summer. The Frenchman now wants to reunite with the ex-Leeds United talent in Turin.

Cresswell is seen as a modern-day centre-back who can play anywhere in a back three, having impressed in Ligue 1.

The newspaper claim that Atalanta, Como and AC Milan have also been interested in the defender. Juve now see the Englishman as a way to improve Luciano Spalletti’s backline. They are looking to add younger players to the side and the Englishman fits the bill.

So far this season, Cresswell has played 12 times in Ligue 1. In the 2014/15 campaign, he played 31 games and was a key player.

At Leeds United, he played five times in the Premier League.

Cresswell’s value is now much more than what Leeds United got from Toulouse, but a lot of that is down to the player himself and the progress he’s made.
