Manchester United’s chances of prising Daniel Munoz away from Crystal Palace in the January transfer window have been boosted. Munoz has been a stand-out performer for Palace since joining from Belgian side Genk in 2024 and has not-so-subtly hinted that he is eyeing a move up the food chain.
The 29-year-old has made the right wingback position his own under Oliver Glasner, returning eight goals and 14 assists in 81 appearances for Palace. He is under contract with the south London side until June 2028, but hasn’t hid his desire to test himself elsewhere.
Speaking to AS recently, he said: “First of all, I think there’s a lot of talk about one club or another. If you ask me, it would be a dream to play for one of these clubs, whether it’s Barcelona, PSG, Real Madrid, or Manchester United. I think I’m working towards that. I strive every day to one day attract the attention of one of these clubs, because for me, it’s a dream to get there."
He added: “If you ask me, I don’t have concrete information any of these clubs are interested in me. My focus is on Crystal Palace. We’ll see when the winter transfer window gets closer.”
Munoz would appear to be a good fit for United, who also play a three-man defence with wingbacks under Ruben Amorim. The United boss has frequently fielded natural forward Amad Diallo in the right wingback position and his defensive frailties have been exposed at times.
If they were looking to sign Munoz, then United may have taken notice of Palace’s own business interests. According to TZ, Palace and West Ham are monitoring Bayern Munich’s Sacha Boey ahead of the January window opening in the New Year.
Boey has seen his minutes reduced in recent weeks under Vincent Kompany and has reportedly been offered to Juventus. There is no shortage of suitors, however, with Palace and West Ham joined by Monaco, Lyon, Sevilla and Galatasaray all in the picture.

The 25-year-old right-back joined Bayern from Galatasaray in January 2024, but is understood not to be keen to return to Turkey. Instead he sees England, France and Spain as ‘realistic destinations’.
Kompany was forced to reiterate his trust in Boey after the 3-1 win over Chelsea in September in the Champions League. “I made it very clear when the question came up about the size of the squad: for me, it’s important that I have huge trust in every single player I have,” the Bayern manager said.
“There are no exceptions. Sacha is part of that, and his performance against Chelsea was very good – the focus is on the squad, on the team, not on individual players.”
