Manchester United loanee Marcus Rashford missed Barcelona training for the second time in two days this morning with a fever.
The forward, who had been on international duty with England, initially missed Thursday's training session after returning to Spain. Reports in Spain state he returned to training at Ciutat Esportiva on Friday morning, only to be told to go home after 9am.
Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo reports Rashford has been suffering from a 'severe cold'. It's claimed that the 28-year-old returned to training on Friday with the same symptoms.
Rashford is one of only two Barcelona players to have played every game so far this season. But the winger's absence so close to Saturday's La Liga clash with Athletic Club has sparked serious concerns that he could miss the game.
He will be hugely disappointed if that is the case, with Hansi Flick’s side set to return to the Camp Nou for the first time in over two years for the fixture. The club are reportedly expected to release a medical statement on Friday explaining his recent absence.
Flick revealed in his press conference: "Marcus has a fever and was out yesterday and today, and I have doubts about whether he'll be available tomorrow."
Rashford, who is on loan in Catalonia until the end of this season, has been in brilliant form this season, which makes his potential absence a huge blow. The United academy graduate has an impressive six goals and nine assists in just 16 appearances across all competitions.

His best displays came in the Champions League against Newcastle and Olympiacos, where he scored a brace in both matches, having also notched an assist in the 2-1 El Clasico defeat last month.
There is some good news for Flick as Joan Garcia, Raphinha, Marc Casado and Lamine Yamal are all available for Saturday after returning from injury. Midfield maestro Pedri, however, is unlikely to feature as he has trained separately all week.
Rashford will be hoping to be back to full fitness in time for Tuesday’s Champions League clash, where he will return to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea in the league phase’s fifth round.
After that, Barcelona take on Alaves on November 29 before a blockbuster clash at home against title rivals Atletico Madrid on December 2.
