Manchester United's players are spending more and more time at the training ground following the huge refurbishment that took place at Carrington, with the club pouring money into their infrastructure.

The team are on their best run of the Ruben Amorim era, unbeaten in their last five Premier League games, which includes three wins, and the dedication at their training base seems to have ramped up with individuals reporting in early and clocking out later than they need to.

Players are arriving up to an hour early for training sessions, reports The Sun. The majority of players tend to head in just after 8am for an official arrival time of 9am.

Some are also staying later, which is largely to take on extras specific to their position once the squad training has finished. A major factor has been the new state-of-the art facilities available to them, which cost the club £50million.

The Carrington-base recently had a glow-up and some players are spending up to seven hours on the premises. A larger communal area, which includes a pool table, a games room and barbershop, is believed to be particularly popular with United players.

United players showcased their dedication following the recent win over Liverpool. They recorded a first win at Anfield for a decade and once they returned home a number began their recovery process that Sunday evening by having saunas and ice baths.

Such activities have become common practice with some players who are regarded among the most dedicated on the planet. Cristiano Ronaldo's regime has long been raved about whilst Mohamed Salah has been known for undergoing late night sessions.

Bringing the team together was a real motivating factor behind the training ground development. The project lasted around a year but after it was finished equipment and technology had been upgraded throughout, with a focus on fitness, nutrition, recovery and team unity.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe said when it opened: “While a world-class facility won’t take us to that place alone, I think it is one of the key ingredients in the modern world. I think here now we have a world-class training facility.

“Thanks to Ruben and the sports staff for being adaptable for the last 12 months. It was a difficult year, and it was not the perfect training facilities that you had to put up with. I hope you enjoy your new home and I hope it helps take Manchester United where Manchester United needs to go."
