Spanish media comments about Marcus Rashford speak volumes amid Lamine Yamal distractions

Marcus Rashford has been drawing plaudits in Barcelona for his impressive start to life in Spain.

The Spanish media have taken kindly to the on-loan Manchester United star, with the press praising the 28-year-old for how he's adjusted to life in his new surroundings.

Rashford's humble demeanour off the pitch is also drawing a strong contrast with Barca superstar Lamine Yamal, who has been taking flak for his lifestyle.

Rashford has scored six goals and bagged nine assists since joining the Catalan giants in the summer. Since moving to Spain, the forward has knuckled down and adjusted his focus, resulting in several stunning performances on the pitch.

In his personal life, Rashford is believed to have moved out of the central Hotel Torre Melina, which is a mile away from the stadium. He has relocated to an apartment in Esplugues, on the edge of the Collserola mountains.

Reports suggest he spends his time playing padel and fishing. One of the England star's favourite restaurants is said to be La Cupula Garraf, an eatery with extraordinary views of the sea.

Diario Sport said: "The feedback in the media on Marcus has been positive. Zero off-field issues, nothing about his life outside of Barça. All of that is about Lamine."

The same cannot be said for the 18-year-old Lamine. The Barcelona prodigy has been criticised for several controversies in his personal life this year alone.

Most notably, Lamine faced a severe backlash following a private bash in the summer for his birthday. The Spanish government was said to have demanded an investigation into the party at the time, which was attended by people with dwarfism and scantily-clad women.

Spanish outlet Marca claimed that the General Director of Disability in the government, Jesus Martin, wanted ministers to investigate.

The Association of People with Achondroplasia and other Skeletal Dysplasias in Spain (ADEE) also hit out at Yamal's decision to hire people with dwarfism as entertainment.

The Spain international has already missed a handful of games this season, yet he's still managed to score three goals and provide five assists in eight games across all competitions. His personal life has become something of a distraction however.

He has generated headlines for his relationship with Argentine rapper Nicki Nicole, 25, due to the pair's eye-catching age gap.

Yamal has since confirmed that he's no longer in a relationship with the musician. However, he had also been linked with a 30-year-old influencer, prior to his relationship with Nicole.

Rashford, meanwhile, appears to be embracing his new life. Speaking to ESPN on if he wanted to stay at Barcelona and make his move permanent, he said: "Oh yeah, for sure."

He added: "I'm enjoying this football club and I think for anybody who loves football, Barcelona is one of the key clubs in the history of the game. For a player it is an honour."
