Manchester United, Tottenham and Aston Villa men on club list as they seek ‘a couple of signings’

Roma have options from Manchester United, Tottenham and Aston Villa on their list as they look to bolster in January.

That’s according to [journalist Nicolo Ceccarini on Tuttomercatoweb.](https://www.tuttomercatoweb.com/editoriale/juventus-c-e-anche-l-idea-brozovic-kessie-un-altra-opportunita-hojbjerg-o-hjulmand-per-l-estate-occhi-su-mendoza-dell-elche-la-roma-forte-su-zirkzee-f-2170774) He reports that Roma are eyeing Joshua Zirkzee, Mathys Tel and Jadon Sancho for the January transfer window.

He explains that Roma have been working to bring manager Gian Piero Gasperin ‘a couple of signings’ in the winter window. The priorities are a central striker and a left winger. However, the club’s budget is limited.

As a result, they are seeking solutions with a ‘less demanding formula’ at this moment in time. In other words, loans will be targeted as much as possible.

Zirkzee is in pole position for the centre-forward role. He’s unhappy at Manchester United, who don’t seem to have him as part of their plans. Roma would ‘obviously’ seek a loan deal with an option. They could accommodate Manchester United’s demands by including an obligation to buy contingent on qualifying for the Champions League.

Another option is Tottenham’s Mathys Tel. He’s been in and out of the picture for Tottenham under Thomas Frank this season. He’s liked because he is versatile and can play across the entire forward line.

Then there is Jadon Sancho, currently on loan at Aston Villa. He joined the Villans on loan from Manchester United in the summer but isn’t featuring much under Unai Emery so far. The feeling is that he could leave Aston Villa in January and seek a move elsewhere.

Roma were linked throughout the summer, and it isn’t out of the question that they make another move for him. That would need to be worked out with Villa and United, though.

For now, the Premier League trio are simply on the list as Roma eye signings to strengthen in January.
