“Nearly impossible” – Sunderland make transfer stance clear as club monitor star

Sunderland have made it clear that they have no intention of letting Granit Xhaka go in the January transfer window. That comes amid interest from Juventus.

That’s according to [journalist Nicolo Ceccarini for Tuttomercatoweb.](https://www.tuttomercatoweb.com/editoriale/juventus-c-e-anche-l-idea-brozovic-kessie-un-altra-opportunita-hojbjerg-o-hjulmand-per-l-estate-occhi-su-mendoza-dell-elche-la-roma-forte-su-zirkzee-f-2170774) They report that Juventus are focusing on improving their midfielder in the January window.

Various options are being looked at. Xhaka is one of those on the list after his impressive performances for Sunderland so far this season.

The Swiss midfielder is being ‘monitored’ by Juventus’ hierarchy, but Sunderland have made their stance clear. There’s currently no chance of him leaving mid-way through the season. That’s the message they’re putting out to Juventus, and potentially others.

For the Italians, he’s now on a list of options that are considered ‘nearly impossible’ to get. That list includes the likes of Pierre Emile Hojbjerg and Morten Hjulmand. That’s not stopping them from analysing the options, nonetheless.

Sunderland, like Marseille and Sporting Club de Portugal, seem to have made their stance clear. They have no intention of selling in January and a deal is very, very unlikely to be done. Whether that completely stops Juventus from even trying, remains to be seen.
