Matheus Cunha has suffered an accident while training with , as per reports. The Brazilian forward recently returned from international duty to join Ruben Amorim and his team-mates to prepare for the side's upcoming clash with , which is set to take place at on Monday evening.

However, it has now emerged that Cunha has suffered an accident on the training ground. The 26-year-old was set to turn on the lights in on Saturday evening, but VisitAltrincham broke the news that the player would no longer be able to attend due to 'medical reasons.'

The page wrote on Instagram: "Unfortunately, has had an accident in training today and will not be able to attend tonight’s Lights Switch on in Altrincham due to medical reasons." The club are yet to comment.

It comes as most of the squad returned to Carrington this week after a two-week international break for the final round of qualifiers.
