Man United hoping to sign former Premier League star

Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim will hope to see his side continue their recent good form when they host Everton on Monday evening.

Rúben Amorim has overseen a run of three wins and two draws from United’s last five games in the Premier League, easing the pressure that had mounted on him after a disastrous first 11 months in charge.

A win for United on Monday could move them as high as fourth in the Premier League table if certain other results go their way, but in the meantime it has emerged that the Manchester outfit are keen to bring a midfielder back to England.

According to TEAMtalk, Man United are keen to sign midfielder Ruben Neves from Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal.

The report claims that the Manchester giants are interested in the Portugal international, who left Wolves to move to Saudi Arabia in 2023.

Neves had enjoyed a successful six year spell at Molineux, making more than 250 appearances for the club across all competitions.

The midfielder registered a combined 43 goals and assists during his time in England, and had continued to impress since moving to the Middle East.

The report suggests that United’s top priority heading into 2026 is to sign a new central midfielder, with the future of current star Casemiro very much in doubt.

Brazil international Casemiro has played an integral role for United this term, but the club will only agree to a new contract if the player agrees to take a pay cut on his current £350,000-per-week earnings.

Neves’ current contract with Al Hilal is set to run until the end of the season, but it appears that United could attempt to lure him to Manchester January.
