Manchester United are about to return to action after the final international break of 2025. The Red Devils host David Moyes' Everton on Monday night, aiming to continue their recent improvement under Ruben Amorim.
After securing consecutive victories against Liverpool and Brighton, United were left slightly disappointed with draws at Nottingham Forest and Tottenham. However, after such a rocky start to the season, there are indications that Amorim's squad is starting to gel.
Attention is also shifting towards the January transfer window, as United aim to bolster their squad in their quest to return to European football. Here, the MEN brings you a round-up of United news...
Amorim's surprise at summer signing
Amorim has expressed pleasant surprise at the progress of one of his summer signings. The goalkeeper position has been a thorny issue for United since David de Gea's departure, with his successor, Andre Onana, making a series of costly errors.
Altay Bayındır was given an opportunity at the start of the season but fared little better, while Onana was loaned out to Trabzonspor and looks unlikely to play for the club again. Consequently, United recruited Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp. Despite it being early days, the 23-year-old has already made a positive impression with his confident performances.

Amorim has been thrilled to see Lammens adapt so quickly to life at United. Speaking to Stadium Astro, he said: "Of course, we do our diligence when we are going to buy players.
"It was a surprise. All the pressure that we suffer with the goalkeeper position, to arrive here and to show that confidence. To transmit that confidence to the team, I think, was a little bit of a surprise for me. I'm not going to say everyone, but I'm talking as a manager. I have no problem to say that was a surprise for me."
January transfer demand
Club legend Bryan Robson is keen to see United bolster their midfield with a player in the mould of Casemiro. After primarily signing attacking players in the summer, the centre of the pitch will be a key area for Amorim to address ahead of the January window.
Former Real Madrid star Casemiro, 33, has faced criticism in recent seasons with suggestions that the Brazilian is past his prime. However, Robson believes he doesn't receive the recognition he deserves and would like to see another player like him join the club.
Robson told Sportsboom: "People say he's not this or he's not that, his legs have gone. Not for me, Casemiro is still a fantastic player, and he would be on my team sheet every time. I think we'd benefit from another Casemiro-like midfielder."

Despite his limited playing time under Amorim, Robson still sees a future for Kobbie Mainoo at the club. The former Middlesbrough manager said: "I think the future is bright, the club has some great young players.
"I still think there's a lot more to come from some of these young players, just look at Kobbie Mainoo.
"He had so many injuries last year, it really was a stop-start season for him, but you look at the year before and he was outstanding for the last six months of the season. There's a lot more to come from Mainoo and the other young lads."
