Manchester United loanee Rasmus Hojlund suffered an injury scare on Saturday after being forced off with a suspected hamstring issue during Napoli's victory over Atalanta. With Antonio Conte's side leading 3-1, Hojlund headed to the sidelines as he appeared to feel an issue with his hamstring.

Reports from the match suggest Hojlund left the pitch before the issue became too serious. However, the injury will be examined by Napoli's medical staff as they look to protect the striker against any further damage. The concern for Hojlund wraps up what has been a difficult week for the 22-year-old.

On Tuesday night, Hojlund scored but could not prevent Denmark losing 4-2 to Scotland in their make or break World Cup qualifier at Hampden Park. Defeat for the Danes meant Scotland progressed automatically to the tournament in the United States of America, Canada and Mexico next summer.

Hojlund then landed himself in further hot water with his national team supporters as he congratulated his Napoli teammate and former United midfielder Scott McTominay on Scotland's victory. The striker has since been defended by former Denmark centre-forward Tommy Bechmann for his comment on social media.

He told Viaplay Sports News via Tipsbladet: "I think it's a good style. Now you have to understand that during the match I don't think Rasmus Hojlund and Scott McTominay are running around joking and having fun, but they can do that at the back [end of the game].

"And that's not to say that it was five minutes after the final whistle, because I was convinced that Hojlund was annoyed and tired of it all. But when you're sitting on the plane on the way home, you might want to congratulate your teammate and really good friend after a slightly unnatural goal."

Hojlund's injury blow only deepens the injury worries for Conte at Napoli after the November international break. Romelu Lukaku, Kevin De Bruyne and Billy Gilmour are just some of the names in the treatment room.
