Speaking at his pre-match press conference, United manager Amorim explained why the dynamic between Hojlund and Sesko could not have worked in one role in the starting XI.
“Our thinking is that we need two strikers, or sometimes I prefer players that make two positions because sometimes in these clubs, it’s hard to make everyone happy,” he said, as per Manchester United’s official website.
“Imagine that Rasmus is here, and you say: ‘If Ben has an injury, you have more time to play.”

What David Moyes told Ruben Amorim to ‘fix’ at Man Utd 🗣️🎙️
It’s not always calling the players out, but I see a little bit where I think the players are quite happy to hide behind the manager and let him take the hit for them. I could do with some of them saying, ‘I’m not quite at it at the moment, not playing well.’
We’re not getting much of that. That work rate is the first thing that any manager has to talk with players about.

“It’s impossible to manage a dressing room like that, that’s why we need to improve the kids from the academy,” he continued.
“If we have an injury, that is the opportunity for them, and then to have players that can play in different positions for us to manage the team in a better way.”
United are 10th in the Premier League table and the Red Devils will clash against David Moyes’ team at 8pm UK time at Old Trafford on Monday.
