Ruben Amorim on Matheus Cunha
Cunha is a maverick. Cunha does things that are hard to find in some players because he plays with the ball, but he has an aura that can do something to opponent’s heads and that is really important.

The 26-year-old will be a solid first-team squad player at Manchester United for years to come – and he’s hoping to bring a few trophies back to Old Trafford with him along the way.
Matheus Cunha wants to win it all at Manchester United
Good players are remembered by performances, great players are remembered by their accolades – and that is exactly why Matheus Cunha wants to ‘bring the glory days again’ at Manchester United.
Speaking in an interview with Kenny Allstar, Cunha was asked about his biggest ambitions in football at the moment.
He responded: “For me, it’s easier to say because I think United is a club that needs to be on top.

“So what’s my mission with the team? Easy – to bring back the glory days. To help the team restore what everyone dreams of: winning the Premier League, the Champions League, and all the big competitions.
“And I feel like… if we win the Premier League with this club after so many years – wow.”
Kenny responded by saying: “‘I’m sure the Man United fans are going to love that answer.”
When did Manchester United last win the Premier League?
For Cunha’s mission to come to fruition, it would be 13 years in the making, with the last time the Red Devils lifted the Premier League title during the 2012–13 season.
This was the legendary Sir Alex Ferguson’s final season at Manchester United, and no manager since the Scot has managed to conjure up a title charge.
Could Ruben Amorim be the one to do so? That remains to be seen, but Cunha will certainly be looking to help; that’s for sure.
What David Moyes told Ruben Amorim to ‘fix’ at Man Utd 🗣️🎙️
It’s not always calling the players out, but I see a little bit where I think the players are quite happy to hide behind the manager and let him take the hit for them. I could do with some of them saying, ‘I’m not quite at it at the moment, not playing well.’
We’re not getting much of that. That work rate is the first thing that any manager has to talk with players about.

For all Manchester United fans’ sake, let’s hope the Brazilian’s long-term plans around Carrington do come into effect.
