Manchester United continue to search the transfer market for their next big star, with Angelo Stiller one of those who appear to be on the radar.

The VFB Stuttgart midfielder was linked back in the summer, though the recruitment team opted towards different options in the market instead - as Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha, Benjamin Sesko and Senne Lammens joined the club.

With some improvements shown under Ruben Amorim this season, the next few signings could help United take the next step with his guidance.

The midfield seems a prime position for change, with Carlos Baleba linked with Man United as one of several options who could improve the team further.

Then there is Stiller, who could be available for a much cheaper price in the market than his Premier League counterparts, making for an attractive proposition.

Sky Sports Germany reported back in October that Manchester United are still monitoring the German international, while Stuttgart could demand more than €50m (£44m) to let him leave next summer.

Talk over his future isn't just subject to transfer reports, as Stuttgart's own sporting director, Fabian Wohlgemuth, was asked about the future of Stiller on Sky 90, via Sport.

He said: "He has a contract with us. It's far too early to speculate about that. Of course, one or two clubs will have had their eye on him. He's having an outstanding season. Maybe he'll even play in a World Cup, we'll see. We're happy he's with us

"That's part of the entertainment we have to cover. But there's nothing concrete. He can concentrate fully on VfB Stuttgart."

Stiller has made 18 appearances so far this season across all competitions, picking up one goal and five assists in that time.

A move for Manchester United could come at a time when Amorim needs a refresh to his midfield ranks, with some changes coming up.

Casemiro's contract expires in 2026, and while his performances have been impressive this season, there is uncertainty over his future beyond the summer.

Manuel Ugarte and Kobbie Mainoo have struggled for minutes this season, with Bruno Fernandes ahead of the pair in the pecking order, opening up questions over their futures.

As a result, there could be plenty of change to come, with Stiller among those who could make a move to Old Trafford over the next few months.
