Marcus Rashford is enjoying a resurgence at Barcelona after falling out of favour at Manchester United.
The summer saw Marcus Rashford earn a move on loan to Barcelona.
It became evident that Rashford had no future under Ruben Amorim at Old Trafford when the forward was sent on loan to Aston Villa midway through last season.
Even when he returned in the summer, Rashford trained away from United’s first team and had no involvement in the pre-season tour before joining Barcelona and rediscovering his form.
Four of Rashford’s six Barcelona goals this season have come in the Champions League.
Rashford is expected to return to Hansi Flick’s line-up tonight when they take on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, after missing Barcelona’s 4-0 win over Athletic Club on Saturday with the flu.
Rashford has resurrected his career since moving to Barcelona, considering it had stalled at Old Trafford. He will remain hopeful of securing a permanent switch to the La Liga club.

It could be argued that he is back to his best, but there is still a lot of football to play this season, and Flick will be keen to see consistency from the England international, who will be hoping to earn a spot in Thomas Tuchel’s World Cup squad.
Former England international Joe Cole has been speaking about Rashford after catching up with the United loanee following Barcelona’s 2-1 win over Newcastle in the Champions League.
“The thing with Marcus, we spoke to him after the Newcastle game and I’ve never seen him that happy,” Cole told TNT Sports. “Do you know what I mean?
“I think it’s a lesson for players, you know, if you’re in a situation it was clearly it was Manchester United was toxic.
“He was the figurehead for it. So, he’s taken a lot on his shoulders. He did a lot for this country off the pitch, didn’t he? You know, and he was lauded rightly so because I think what he did was beautiful. A lot of pressure on him. I thought the Villa move was unusual.
“This is something he should have done two-three years ago. Get out of there to a big club because he’s a big he’s a big player. Marcus Rashford can’t go and play for Valencia. He needs to go to Barcelona or Bayern Munich. He’s that good. And now he’s thriving.”
It is worth noting that Rashford scored a brace that night as Barcelona beat Newcastle, so he was bound to be happy with himself.
Marcus Rashford enjoying change of atmosphere at Barcelona
Speaking ahead of Barcelona’s clash with Chelsea, Flick provided insight into how quickly Rashford has settled in at the La Liga club.
What do you think is Marcus Rashford’s legacy at Man Utd?
Flick said he was happy to have Rashford available for the match and commented on how the change of atmosphere is benefiting the player.
“That change for him, new football, in Barcelona, with good weather,” Flick told reporters, as quoted by RTÉ.
“For me it’s incredible to see how he’s always smiling. That’s the atmosphere we have and it’s very good for him.”
