Now, speaking on the Talk of the Devils podcast, journalist Andy Mitten has shared what he is hearing about Anderson to United right now.
“I mentioned Elliot Anderson a couple of weeks ago. Absolutely, Manchester United would love to sign him. It is obvious.
“He’s absolutely the player that Manchester United want.”
Mitten mentioned United’s interest in Anderson previously, but it is new that he’s the player the club wants, and would love to sign him.
He also issued a plea to Anderson.
If the Nottingham Forest midfielder is to join United in 2026, he has two legends to be inspired by.
First, Anderson would be following in Roy Keane’s footsteps in joining United from Forest.
Additionally, Anderson would be following in Bryan Robson’s shoes, as Mitten declared during the podcast.
“If you are listening to this, Elliot Anderson, look at what your fellow Geordie Bryan Robson did in 1981. You can join one of the biggest football clubs in the world, and you can be part of their recovery.
“This train is only going to pass once for you, son. Get on the train because you will never, ever regret it.”
Anderson has everything to come to United and go on to be a great, which makes it such an exciting potential addition.
