Last week, Corriere dello Sport reported Manchester United would only let Joshua Zirkzee depart on a dry loan deal. The slant was they want to keep control of his future.
AS Roma are keen on signing the Dutchman, who is said to be interested in the move.
The Italian club continue to work towards signing the player, and may be making some progress.
Gazzetta dello Sport report Roma’s proposal is now on Manchester United’s table.
The Red Devils have been offered an initial loan with an option to buy. That option would become an obligation if the Giallorossi qualify for the Champions League. No figures are mentoned by Gazzetta.
The newspaper state the 24-year-old is ‘now closer’ to joining Roma, and it’s claimed he’s ‘said yes’ to the move.
Manchester United’s stance about this offer remains unknown. Reports in Italy have not been certain of what Ruben Amorim’s side want but Gazzetta believe they have decided to move on from the Netherlands man.
That is giving Roma hope, as they also continue to monitor Midtjylland’s Franculino.
A move for Zirkzee could be easier to execute though. This is because the Guinea Bissau international is valued at €40m right now, but then with no figures mentioned for the Manchester United player it’s unclear how realistic Roma’s plan is.
