Celtic have a number of talented players in their squad but it’s not very often that they get compared to those at Manchester United.
But that’s exactly what Livingston star Cammy Kerr has done with Celtic captain Callum McGregor.
After watching McGregor’s Celtic winner against St Mirren at the weekend, Kerr was in awe of the Hoops skipper when he made the comparison to Man United captain Bruno Fernandes.
Kerr believes that McGregor is just as important to Celtic as Fernandes is to United and here, he outlines the reasons why.

Celtic captain Callum McGregor compared to Man United skipper
Kerr was outlining the mentality needed to perform week in, week out for Celtic and says that watching the Hoops captain reminds him of how important Fernandes is to Manchester United.
Kerr told The Scottish Football Podcast, “Touching back to McGregor, who’s obviously scored again last night. I touched on it earlier, the mentality he’s got is incredible.

“He kind of reminds me like probably of a Bruno Fernandes-type, that no matter what game you’re playing in, whether it’s a lower league opposition round three or four of the cup or a Scottish Cup final, he plays every game because of the importance of what he is.

What Martin O’Neill really thinks of Celtic captain McGregor
Martin O’Neill has been enjoying his time at Celtic working with McGregor and even the legendary Hoops gaffer has been overawed by the captain.
O’Neill told Celtic’s official website after McGregor’s goal at St Mirren, “It’s a fantastic goal and it probably didn’t belong in the game tonight but, even so, it was a brilliant goal from a really brilliant player.”
The interim Celtic boss appears to have just two games left with McGregor and there is no doubt O’Neill will relish managing the living Hoops legend.
