Alert for Manchester United–Éderson agent says €30-40m could get‘spectacular’midfielder

Should Manchester United want to revive their interest in Atalanta midfielder Éderson, they now have fresh encouragement.

The 26-year-old has been on the English club’s list for more than a year, with repeated claims from Italy and South America that Atalanta would not consider offers below €50m.

Some claims even pushed the asking price as high as €80m, and that was considered excessive, even by big clubs like Manchester United.

However, Brazilian agent André Cury has provided a different picture in an interview with Spanish outlet Cadena SER.

Cury said the 25-year-old, his client. could leave Bergamo for a significantly lower fee in 2026. He explained that Éderson is approaching the end of his contract and that this is shifting the dynamics inside the Italian club. The contract expires in 2027.

In his words, Atalanta had asked for a lot of money, between €60m and €75m, but the current situation is now an “opportunity” to cash in.

The representative added that a deal worth around €30m to €40m could be feasible in the next windows. He stated: “He’s close to the end of his contract, they could even lower his price by half, to between €30m and €40m, but he’s a spectacular player with some of the best stats in Europe for his position.”

According to Cury, the Serie A side had resisted high bids in the past but will likely complete a sale either in January or the summer.

Manchester United could get a bargain

Ederson

WARSAW, POLAND – 14 AUGUST, 2024: UEFA SUPER CUP 2024 Final match: Atalanta BC – Real Madrid 0:2 o.p: Ederson of Atalanta BC

These comments land directly in Manchester United’s radar. The Premier League club have followed the Brazilian for months, yet the previous valuation limited any concrete movement.

They need a central midfielder who is more on the defensive side of the game, and perhaps the Brazilian could be that man.

With Cury describing Éderson as a midfielder who brings “a lot of physicality and range”, Manchester United may reconsider their stance if the price indeed drops. A €40m transfer looks a great deal, and €30m would be a steal.

Even so, Atalanta’s next steps remain uncertain and will dictate how open the winter or summer windows become.
