Manchester United have earmarked Wolves star Andre among other options in their search for a new midfielder, ESPN journalist Rob Dawson has revealed.
The Old Trafford side are continuing to assess their potential targets ahead of the market reopening in January, which include both Brighton’s Carlos Baleba and Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson.
Man United are also believed to be admirers of Wolves ace Joao Gomes, and now a fresh report has suggested that Ruben Amorim’s side have also looked at landing his teammate Andre.
The Brazilian midfielder, who joined Wolves from Fluminense in the summer of 2024, has been a regular for the Premier League side this term, featuring in all 12 of their games.

According to Dawson, United have scouted both Gomes and Andre as potential midfield options, alongside Stuttgart’s Angelo Stiller and Atletico Madrid’s Conor Gallagher.
The Red Devils are anticipated to splash more funds on reinforcing Ruben Amorim’s squad next season, with a new central midfielder and wing-back on the agenda.
United are anticipated to sign at least one midfielder, but could end up moving for two amid the uncertainty surrounding Kobbie Mainoo and Casemiro’s futures.
While the Carrington academy graduate has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford, Casemiro’s contract is expiring at the end of the season.
United are believed to be keen on retaining the 33-year-old beyond the campaign, but on a reduced salary, as Casemiro is one of the best-paid players at the club.
Chances appear more and more realistic that another Brazilian could be brought in as a potential long-term replacement for the five-time Champions League winner, with both Andre and Gomes now on the shortlist.
Andre Among Best Premier League Passers
Andre
Wolves will be in a strong negotiating position for Andre if Man United come calling for the midfielder next year, with the Brazilian under contract until June 2029 at Molineux.
The ‘magnificent’ 24-year-old has been a key player for Wolves ever since joining from Fluminense last year, making 50 appearances to date, including 31 starts in the Premier League last season.
Although able to play further up the field, Andre is primarily a defensive midfielder and stands out for his tenacity and ability to break down attacks.
He also offers a good range of passing and has shown real confidence on the ball, registering 90.7% pass accuracy this Premier League campaign – he ranks eighth among all players in the competition.

The Molineux boss denied any approach for Gomes, insisting he is ‘not aware’ of moves being made from any club to secure the 24-year-old Brazilian.
