Manchester United continue to be linked with possible options to improve their midfield ranks, but the presence of Bastian Schweinsteiger could well cause an issue with one particular target for Ruben Amorim.
It comes as the side face some questions over the future of their central options within the squad, with Casemiro's contract expiring in 2026.
On top of that, there are question marks over how much influence Kobbie Mainoo and Manuel Ugarte could have in the role as one of the two pivots.
That has naturally created some talk over possible transfer targets, with Brighton's Carlos Baleba, Nottingham Forest's Elliot Anderson and Crystal Palace's Adam Wharton among those heavily linked with moves to United.
He isn't the only one, however, as VFB Stuttgart's Angelo Stiller has emerged as a top target who could be more affordable for the club in the next few months.
The 24-year-old has been a consistent presence for the Bundesliga team, with 18 appearances across all competitions, scoring once and assisting five times in that spell.
It's no surprise that Stiller continues to be linked as an option, but it's not only United who are keeping tabs on his availability for the coming transfer windows, as Bayern Munich appear to be interested as well.

With that in mind, former United midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger has urged the German international to make a move to Bavaria, over a switch to the Premier League, if the opportunity arises.
Speaking at a King's League event, the 41-year-old said: "Angelo is a very interesting player. I would very much like to see him back at FC Bayern."
Stiller came through the ranks with Bayern Munich, spending 11 years with the club in their academy, while he also made three appearances for the senior team, before his eventual departure.
With Schweinsteiger having played for both Bayern and United in his impressive career, he may be able to give a little insight into the culture surrounding both clubs, which may help inform Stiller of a move, one way or the other.

The former midfielder enjoyed a 13-year stint in the Bundesliga before he made the switch to the Premier League, though his time with United was different to that of Bayern.
Schweinsteiger lasted just 20 months at Old Trafford, falling out of favour before his exit to Chicago Fire in 2017, having been seen as surplus to requirements.
The World Cup winner explained how he was banished from training with the team during his time when speaking on Stick To Football last year.
He said: "I was training alone for at least three months with a fitness coach. I trained before and after the (first) team.
"(Mourinho) never let me train with the first team. I guess they wanted to get rid of me. In that moment, I was still super happy at United. I loved to wear the jersey; I loved it.
"I was thinking that maybe it was just a period, I will train now and keep myself fit, and maybe one day they'll change their mind. My dream was to always step back out into Old Trafford."
In the end, it was a bitter way for Schweinsteiger to leave, and while Man United seem to hold a special place in his heart, his recent stance could end up hurting them in the transfer market, while Bayern Munich could benefit.
