Manchester United are set to complete the signing of Colombian youth international Cristian Orozco who will arrive in the UK in the 'next few days.' That's according to Fabrizio Romano who says United are set to pay Colombian side Fortaleza a fee of $1million (£755,000).
United are said to value the young midfielder highly having been capped 13 times by his country at youth level. His impending arrival is part of an aggressive recruitment strategy by transfer chief Jason Wilcox who has swooped for the defensive midfielder.
The 17-year-old will officially move to Old Trafford next year after celebrating his 18th birthday in July and sign his contract on his trip to Manchester.
Orozco, who had only joined his current club Fortaleza in the summer, has drawn comparisons to fellow Colombian midfielder Moises Caicedo.
The current Chelsea midfielder is one of best players in the Premier League at preset, and United chiefs may regret the decision to walk away from transfer talks in 2021.
The club were in talks with Caicedo during his time at Independiente del Valle back in January 2021, but reportedly walked away from a deal due to interference from several agents.

Caicedo's asking price of £5.5m was deemed too expensive, but would later break the British record transfer fee and sign for Chelsea for an incredible £115m
United have shown they're making an attempt to learn from previous mistakes and have already signed a number of promising young talents from across the globe. In the summer they signed young left back Diego Leon as part of their explorations into South America.
They also signed the highly rated Sekou Kone from Guidars FC last year and he has drawn comparisons to former Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure.
Of course, these young talents have some way to go until they're at the level to play in United's first-team, but the club's transfer chiefs are hoping they can turn them into diamonds.
Romano adds that United are looking to add a midfielder to their ranks during the 2026 transfer windows, claiming they could add as many as two starters between January and the summer.
Joao Gomes is one of the names being considered by the club and viewed as an opportunity by United if Wolves decide to sell in the January transfer window.
