Manchester United are always open to market opportunities to sign some of the best young footballers in world football, and the new Neymar could now be on the cards.
When Sir Jim Ratcliffe said he wanted to sign the ‘new Kylian Mbappe’, what he really meant was that Manchester United would be signing elite talents from across the globe.
This strategy so far has led to the signing of Sekou Kone and Diego Leon, both of whom still have lots of potential and are expected to head on loan to develop in the new year.
Cristian Orozco is expected to complete his transfer next week, but already, United are looking forward to potentially another South American wonderkid addition, and it would be really exciting.

Manchester United plot move to sign Robinho Junior
For years, United wouldn’t have made the Orozco and Leon signings, but under Ineos, they are the bread and butter of Christopher Vivell.
But there has yet to be an attacking wonderkid brought in, but that could change in 2026.
Are you happy with Ineos and Sir Jim Ratcliffe?
According to Brazilian outlet Diario Do Peixe, United are very keen on signing Santos’ Robinho Junior, with a move in the new year not ruled out.

United have been closely monitoring Robinho, with the 17-year-old on the radar for around a year so far. An agreement won’t be easy, but United are considering advancing talks ahead of January.
The Red Devils view Robinho as a promising player with ‘great potential for development’, as a club scout has already been to watch the winger in action, and there is competition which could push United into making a play.
At Santos, Robinho has been playing with Neymar and no doubt learning a lot from one of the biggest talents in the history of football, and he also comes from footballing greatness.
What Robinho thought he was joining Manchester United in 2008
Robinho Junior isn’t just a wonderkid in Brazilian football; he also has a father who was a star of his time in the form of Robinho, who played for Real Madrid until 2008.
Robinho then joined Manchester City, but he wasn’t happy about it as there were always rumours that he thought he was instead joining United, given City weren’t a big club at the time.
Former City boss Mark Hughes admitted he believed there was some truth to this, as quoted by TalkSPORT.
“There’s probably a grain of truth in the rumour that Robinho thought he was actually signing for Manchester United.
“He certainly didn’t recognise me when he turned up; he was probably expecting to see Sir Alex Ferguson at the airport! He was probably a bit disappointed, to say the least.”
Now, his son could live this dream at Old Trafford if United decide to make a move.
