‘Starting with Arsenal’ – Gunners in touch with Jorge Mendes over mega signing

Earlier this month, Corriere dello Sport reported Juventus aren’t taking Arsenal’s links with Kenan Yildiz too seriously.

The Italian side were believed to be ‘uninterested’ in the player’s sale despite speculation surrounding his future. Despite this stance, it seems like Juventus can’t take anything for granted.

La Repubblica report everything comes down to how talks around a new deal proceed.

While Jorge Mendes is not Yildiz’s formal agent, that’s his father, he’s working in some capacity and is receiving contact from other clubs.

So far, the Portuguese agent has picked up enquiries from teams in the Premier League – ‘starting with Arsenal’. This suggests the Gunners are the most interested club in England.

Arsenal will be waiting for trouble… and can then pounce

Kenan Yildiz

Turin, Italy. 16 September 2025. Allianz Juventus Stadium. UEFA Champions League 2025-26. Juventus vs Borussia Dortmund 4-4. Kenan Yildiz, Juventus, celebrating goal.

The youngster is currently demanding €6m per season, which will be a considerable upgrade on his salary of €1.5m per season. Football salaries are usually quoted after tax in Italy and it’s unclear if that’s the case here.

This factor is likely to be key, as the Bianconeri are being cautious about their finances.

As a result, the 20-year-old’s contract situation is ‘unresolved’. As much as Juve see him as the centre of their project, it all boils down to whether they can meet his financial demands.

Should Arsenal interest be genuine then they’ll hope the meetings result in a fall out between the parties.

Kenan Yildiz is very highly rated in Italy and Turkey. There’s been figures approaching €100m suggested for a potential transfer.
