Man Utd face Crystal Palace this weekend and Ruben Amorim has highlighted a key player for his team.

Manchester United's wing-backs will need to be at their best when they travel to face Crystal Palace in the Premier League this weekend. United will hope to bounce back from their dire defeat to Everton on Monday night and face a team that have enjoyed great success with a similar tactical approach.

Palace have won both the FA Cup and Community Shield under head coach Oliver Glasner, playing in a 3-4-2-1 formation that puts great importance on the wide players. Daniel Munoz and Tyrick Mitchell have both been excellent this season and rank amongst the top five Premier League players for distance covered.

It means whoever Amorim selects in the wing-back roles will have to be on top of their game this Sunday lunchtime if they are to have any chance of a rare away win at Selhurst Park.

Amorim praises Amad in new role

Manchester United could start with Amad Diallo in attack to help them cope with the absence of both Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Sesko this weekend. The Ivorian has featured as both an attacking midfielder and a wing-back this season, and Ruben Amorim believes he is at his best when he plays in a wide role.

Asked about the comparison between his wing-back options and those at Crystal Palace, the United head coach said: "I don't know how you read that data. Maybe they play more games, more minutes. So you cannot compare the data. We make a lot of substitutions.

“Sometimes we change because we know that is a different position, or you want to change the feet with Dalot and Patrick. And we change a lot. Sometimes we start with Amad in front.

"But most of the time if we need to win the game, I put Amad on the right. Amad changes position all the time. So that can change all the data, and you see different things. But again, they are doing the things really well. They are playing more in transition than us. The opponents see it in a different way. So all these things we have to look at when we compare teams. But of course, in every position we can do so much better."
