No sooner is Jayson Molumby back from his one-match suspension following the mindless red card at Coventry last weekend, the Baggies are likely to be without Toby Collyer due to a hamstring issue picked up against Birmingham in the week.
Collyer's replacement from the early injury against Blues was Ousmane Diakite and the physical Malian coped admirably again as he has when used regularly for much of the last six weeks.
It poses Albion's head coach a selection deliberation about whether he opts to reward Diakite - who himself came off late on following the 11th-minute introduction - or gives an immediate return to the available-again Molumby.
My inclination is Mason will select Molumby, following the Irishman's one-match ban.
The visit of lowly Swansea is a home game the Baggies really must target for three points. It is a home fixture against a side below them in the Championship and low on confidence. It is now the same as facing league leaders Coventry or even Blues in midweek, who were in a good spell of form.
Molumby is far from a guarantee of goals from an attacking sense but he does offer more in the final third and is a more likely to pop up in the right area that the defensive-minded Diakite.
