Manchester United travel to London to face Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
After a run of three wins and two draws, Ruben Amorim’s side suffered a dismal 1-0 defeat at home against Everton on Monday night, despite the Toffees being reduced to ten men after just 13 minutes.
The Red Devils now sit tenth in the top flight standings, but victory at Selhurst Park could lift them as high as fourth if other results go their way.
In the meantime, it appears that United’s search for a new midfielder is ongoing, with a new Premier League star seemingly having emerged on their radar.
According to CaughtOffside, Man United have identified Wolves’ Joao Gomes as a transfer target as they look to bolster their midfield options.
The report claims that the Red Devils have been keeping close tabs on the Brazilian midfielder, who has been impressing despite Wolves’s struggles so far this season.

Gomes, 24, joined Wolves from Brazilian outfit Flamengo back in 2023 and has since grown to become an important player at Molineux.
In total he has now played more than 100 times for Wolves across all competitions, but it appears that his displays haven’t gone unnoticed.
Premier League champions Liverpool are also said to have shown interest in Gomes in the past, although the Reds are now said to have cooled their interest in the player.
It is claimed that those at Od Trafford hold a ‘strong appreciation’ of Gomes, having signed his former Wolves teammate Matheus Cunha from Wolves over the summer.
The report suggests that United’s scouts believe Gomes is a player capable of replacing the likes of Manuel Ugarte or Casemiro in Amorim’s squad.
