There is still one month of 2025 left, but already, Manchester United have secured the addition of one player, and he’s imminently due in England.

Giuseppe Antonaccio is Manchester United’s lead scout for South America, and he has seen his job role become increasingly important over the past few years.

There was a time when United wouldn’t have signed an unproven wonderkid from South America, but Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s demand to sign stars of tomorrow changed that.

Last summer, this saw Diego Leon sign from Paraguay for £3.2m, a fee which could pan out to be a bargain. Now, another signing in the form of Cristian Orozco is on his way from Colombia.

Orozco shone for his Colombian side with superb quality on the ball and also physically while wearing the captain’s armband.

Giuseppe Antonaccio could have a big impact on Manchester United’s future

Antonaccio will have been the man tasked with bringing the top talents from South America to the table of Christopher Vivell, head of recruitment, who will then make the ultimate decision.
