Report: Man Utd make contact to sign £425,000-a-week 'superstar' in blockbuster Ineos deal

Manchester United have made contact with unsettled Real Madrid star Vinicius Jr.’s representatives over a potential move, according to CaughtOffside.

The Old Trafford side are believed to be among several European clubs tracking the Brazilian forward amid his uncertain situation in the Spanish capital.

As GIVEMESPORT reported last week, Vinicius has told Real he does not currently wish to renew his contract amid his strained relationship with head coach Xabi Alonso.

As a result, Real are believed to be assessing next steps regarding the 25-year-old, whose contract at the Santiago Bernabeu expires in the summer of 2027.

According to CaughtOffside, Man United have already established their interest with Vinicius Jr.’s representatives, but have yet to receive any indication whether a potential move could materialise.

Real are expected to try to keep the 25-year-old forward as he is one of the most important members of the team, although competition for his signature could intensify next year.

Vinicius will have only a year left on his contract after the 2026 World Cup, and it is believed that Manchester City and other European clubs could emerge as suitors.

The Brazil international has made 18 appearances for Real this season, scoring five goals and providing six assists, including two in their 4-3 win over Olympiakos in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Vinicius is one of the best-paid players at Real alongside Kylian Mbappe and Jude Bellingham, taking home a reported £425,000 per week.

Red Devils Eyeing New Midfielder in 2026

Joao Gomes

Amid reports of potential interest in Vinicius, Man United are prioritising adding a new midfielder to Ruben Amorim’s squad in 2026.

As GIVEMESPORT revealed previously, the Red Devils are admirers of both Premier League stars Carlos Baleba and Elliot Anderson, although deals as soon as January remain difficult for the duo.

United are also keeping tabs on Wolves ace Joao Gomes’ situation, as the West Midlands club could be open to the Brazilian’s departure amid their precarious league position.

Gomes is believed to be open to a move to Old Trafford and could cost in the region of £44m.

While they look for a new midfield addition, United are also open to prolonging Casemiro’s stay at the club beyond his current deal that expires in June.

The 33-year-old midfielder is the last Real Madrid player to swap the Santiago Bernabeu for Old Trafford, having joined in a £70m deal in 2022.
