Manchester United vs Crystal Palace team news and match preview
The Man Utd head coach wants to see improvement from a player he signed this year.
United are expected to be in the market for another wing-back option next year amid a lack of standout candidates to play in the position. Amorim believes Amad Diallo is 'perfect' for the right-sided role in his system, but there are huge concerns about the other options they have to play in the wide areas.
Patrick Dorgu has struggled since his £25 million from Lecce at the start of the year, while Diogo Dalot has suffered from his role change from a traditional full-back. Noussair Mazraoui and Luke Shaw could also play out wide, but neither of them would deem it to be their natural position. It leaves Amorim light on options to choose from, and he wants to see much more from those at the club, particularly Dorgu.

Amorim demands improvement from 'anxious' Dorgu
Speaking in his pre-match press conference ahead of the trip to face Crystal Palace this weekend, Ruben Amorim admitted Patrick Dorgu was suffering from 'anxiety' in a Manchester United shirt.
Asked if he could target a wing-back next year, Amorim told reporters: "Guys, that is going to... We have time to think about that. I don't know if it's going to happen in January. What I feel when I see them training, they are doing so much better than in games.
"Then Patrick, when I see him playing for the (Denmark) national team, he's scored a great goal against Ireland (Scotland) the decision that he made under pressure was completely different than the decision that he's making in our team. So I just need to understand the context in trying to help him.
"I think they (wing-backs) are far from the best, and they know it. So, like a lot of players in our team, like myself. So I just, I just look at them, and I think they have so much more to give. So let's see, let's see this week if we improve that."
When asked if Dorgu needed to improve his attacking output, Amorim added: "I think it's the decision. He needs to be calmer playing the game. You can feel the anxiety every time Patrick touched the ball, I can feel it, the anxiety. And I remember the shot against Everton. That was easier than the decision that he had to make when the guys from Scotland was there, and he has a great decision, and I saw it when he played in Italy. But again, here is different, and sometimes the pressure is hard for them in the beginning, but he has time to improve."
