Marcus Rashford played at the renovated Camp Nou for the first time for Barcelona - but a potential transfer to Paris Saint-Germain has reportedly been called off.The 28-year-old came on shortly after the break, replacing midfielder Marc Bernal.

Although the on-loan Manchester United star didn't get on the scoresheet, the Catalan side went on to win 3-1 against Alaves – opening up a two‑point gap to rivals Real Madrid at the top of the table. It was his 13th appearance in the league – his fourth as a substitute.

Rashford described it as a 'special night' when taking to Instagram afterwards. Sharing pictures from the game, the winger wrote: "First time playing at Spotify Camp Nou as a blaugrana. Special night for me."

Rashford has reignited his career at Barcelona after being 'frozen out' by United boss Ruben Amorim. The Spanish giants have the option to make his move permanent for a fee as low as £26million (€30m).

Rashford's form had reportedly attracted interest from PSG, with journalist Ben Jacobs noting the French champions are expected to pursue a versatile attacker next year. However, Jacobs has since clarified – citing sources – that a move for Rashford is 'unlikely at this stage.'

The England forward is thriving in Catalonia, with six goals and nine assists in 18 outings – a return that makes him the leading provider across Europe's top five leagues.

Meanwhile, Barca boss Hansi Flick has already shared his thoughts on the England international. He said: "I followed him his whole career, I was impressed with his quality, what he's doing in the box in front of the opponent's goal.

"He has shown it in Barcelona. I’m happy with him; I know he can play at this level and he's shown it. He's an important player.

"He's a player with great talent and an amazing ability to finish attacks, and that's what we see in training. We needed a player with these qualities."

Rashford is a strong contender to be included in Thomas Tuchel's England squad for next summer's World Cup.
