Manchester United make Zirkzee decision as Palace starting line up confirmed with 'anxious' star dropped

Manchester United vs Crystal Palace team news and match preview

The Man Utd starting line up and team news to face Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Sunday lunchtime.

Manchester United have named Joshua Zirkzee in their starting line up to face Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Sunday lunchtime.

Ruben Amorim has made two changes from the dismal defeat to Everton on Monday night, with Diogo Dalot and Mason Mount selected in place of Noussair Mazraoui and Patrick Dorgu. There is only so much Amorim can do with his line up after three players were ruled out due to injury.

United are still without Matheus Cunha after he suffered a head injury in training last weekend. The Brazilian’s setback was only described as a ‘minor’ issue but he missed the Everton match as a precaution and was not fit enough for the trip to Selhurst Park. He is expected to be involved again when they host West Ham on Thursday night. Harry Maguire is still a few weeks away from his return to action, while Benjamin Sesko is on track to recover over the festive period.

Manchester United starting line up vs Crystal Palace

Manchester United have named their starting line up to face Crystal Palace in the Premier League fixture on Sunday lunchtime. United travel to Selhurst Park for the unusual kick-off time after the match had originally been scheduled to take place on Saturday, but was moved back due to the home side’s involvement in the Conference League.

Ruben Amorim has made two changes from the Everton loss, with Senne Lammens selected to keep his place in goal. It is also the same back three with Leny Yoro and Luke Shaw selected on either side of Matthijs De Ligt.

Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes keep their partnership in the heart of the United midfield, with Amad Diallo and Diogo Dalot the two choices in the crucial wing-back roles. Bryan Mbeumo and Mason Mount start in attack along with Joshua Zirkzee.

It means Lisandro Martinez has to settle for a place on the bench again as he awaits his first appearance since he suffered a knee injury against Palace back in February. The Argentine was an unused substitute against Everton on Monday night and will hope to make his first appearance in almost 10 months later today.

United XI vs Palace: Lammens; Yoro, De Ligt, Shaw; Amad, Casemiro, Fernandes (c), Dalot; Mbeumo, Mount, Zirkzee. Subs: Bayindir, Dorgu, Heaven, Malacia, Martinez, Mazraoui, Mainoo, Ugarte, Lacey.
