Gameweek 13 of the Premier League season sees 6th-place Crystal Palace take on**Ruben Amorim'sManchester United.**
The Red Devils need to form a response to a miserable Monday evening where they fell to defeat against a ten-man Everton side.
But, Selhurst Park has not been a welcoming place for United in recent seasons. In fact, you have to go back to July of 2020 to find the last time they claimed victory at the home of the Eagles.
Crystal Palace themselves will be looking to bounce back as their trip to France midweek ended in a 2-1 defeat to Strasbourg. Facing a team they have fared well against as of late, Palace will certainly fancy themselves against a Manchester United side that look down on confidence.
Crystal Palace:
Despite suffering an issue, Oliver Glasner and Crystal Palace are hopeful that Will Hughes will be part of the squad to face Manchester United. The Englishman has played an important role in the Eagles' good start to the Premier League season. It would certainly be valuable to have him available for selection in the matchday squad.
Palace have multiple other absentees, including the likes of Cheick Doucoure, Chadi Riad and Borna Sosa. Nevertheless, the Eagles have a strong squad to deploy against United on Sunday, one they will feel confident in.
Manchester United:
In his press conference, Ruben Amorim explained that Harry Maguire will be out of action for longer than they had originally anticipated. The Englishman is recovering from a thigh injury, as this match comes too soon for him.
Benjamin Sesko also remains out for the Red Devils after sustaining a knee injury against Spurs prior to the international break. He has slightly longer to wait until he is ready to make his return for United.
Matheus Cunha is closest to being fit for selection, but Amorim has said he expects the Brazilian to be ready for United's next game against West Ham.
Predicted Lineups
Crystal Palace:
Henderson; Lacroix, Guehi, Richards; Munoz, Wharton, Kamada, Mitchell; Sarr, Mateta, Pino
Manchester United:
Lammens; Yoro, De Ligt, Shaw; Mazraoui, Casemiro, Fernandes, Dalot; Mount, Diallo; Mbeumo
Key Players
Crystal Palace - Ismaila Sarr
The 27-year-old has been fantastic as of late for Oliver Glasner's side, looking one of their biggest threats alongside Jean-Phillipe Mateta. His trickiness on the wing will certainly provide cause for concern for Ruben Amorim and his men.
The Senegalese winger will be looking to test a Manchester United backline that has not always looked convincing as of late, particularly on Monday night, even when they did have a numerical advantage.
Manchester United - Bruno Fernandes
United's captain has so often helped lift his team when they have been low on confidence, as his task on Sunday will be no different, as they simply must bounce back from a disappointing Monday evening.
The midfielder has enjoyed a good run of performances as of late for the Red Devils, but will be hungry to build on this against Crystal Palace, which his side has recently struggled with.
His leadership at Selhurst Park will be equally as key to success as his performance would be.
