Man Utd recorded an impressive win as they came from behind to defeat Crystal Palace.

Ruben Amorim told his Manchester United players to 'be more alive' in the second half against Crystal Palace on Sunday afternoon. United were dreadful in the first half of their clash with Palace but showed great character to turn the game around and secure a rare three points in South London.

Palace were far the better side in the first half and deservedly led before half-time when Mateta scored his penalty at the second attempt after he had been fouled in the box by Leny Yoro. Amorim made no changes at the break, but was still able to inspire an unlikely comeback victory.

United responded well and drew level within 10 minutes of the restart when Joshua Zirkzee latched onto a brilliant Bruno Fernandes free-kick and fired an excellent effort across the goal. They soon had a second when Mason Mount fired in from the edge of the box after a quick free-kick from the club captain again.

What Ruben Amorim told Manchester United players at half-time

Manchester United came from behind to defeat Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon thanks to goals from Joshua Zirkzee and Mason Mount.

Speaking after the game, Ruben Amorim revealed what he told his players at half-time after such a poor first-half display. "I just told the players we need to be more alive and you can feel that. If you are more alive, you are in more places, you are near the ball more often and I think everyone did that.

"We also need to understand that the opponent was tired in the second half and when you increase the rhythm, and the opponent gets tired a little bit, suffers right away a goal, you felt that we had the control of the game, and that is it."

When asked for his verdict on Zirkzee after his first goal in over seven months, Amorim added: "He was really important. It was not just the goal, even the runs behind. In the first-half, he struggled on the duels, he won some in the second half. We improved a lot because of the quality of Josh in the second half. That is important for him to understand. It is not just the goal, we played better because Josh played better in the second half."
