Manchester United's forward Joshua Zirkzee has expressed his gratitude to his club mates for their support during his goal drought.

The Dutch ace finally broke an almost eight-month dry spell with a leveller in Sunday's Premier League triumph over Crystal Palace. His last netted goal dates back to April, when he scored against Lyon in the Europa League.

His most recent Premier League goal was nearly a year ago. Zirkzee's strike sparked a comeback for United, who rallied from behind to snatch all three points from the match.

Mason Mount celebrates scoring his team's second goal with teammate Bruno Fernandes during the Premier League match between Crystal Palace and Manchester United.

The victory propels Ruben Amorim's squad above their rivals in the Premier League standings, landing them in sixth place.

Chatting with TNT Sport post-match, Zirkzee couldn't hide his joy at both the goal and the win, reports the Manchester Evening News.

"A great feeling, you know, it's always a good feeling to score but most importantly it got us back into the game, this guy (Mount) scored a pretty good goal after as well," he shared.

"It's one of the biggest clubs in the world and you have to perform, so if you don't score for a long time then it can get to you.

"But I'm surrounded by great players, great people and we help each other every day and they made it quite easy for me.
