Bruno Fernandes gave his thoughts on a comeback 2-1 victory for **Man United**in South London.
The Red Devils had gone on a five game unbeaten run in their last block of fixtures, but they suffered a serious setback on Monday at Old Trafford. **Everton**put them under immediate pressure, went 1-0 ahead despite being down to ten men from the 13th minute, and then held onto all three points.
A response was needed at Selhurst Park to ensure that the men of Ruben Amorim did not sink back into their old ways, but Jean-Philippe Mateta put the hosts ahead from a retaken penalty.
However, the visitors showed more of the signs that are convincing people that they have turned a new leaf with their head coach after the break.
They turned the scoreline in their favour in a sharp spell of nine minutes as **Joshua Zirkzee**and Mason Mount. The tight angled strike from the Dutch forward was particularly special: with injuries for Benjamin Sesko and Matheus Cunha to contend with, as well as the impending AFCON absence of Bryan Mbeumo, an in-form Zirkzee is a big asset to the group.
"First half we were a bit slow with the ball and played to their strengths. We weren't good with the second balls and they were waiting for that.
"We changed in the second half and became stronger on second balls and stronger on the ball."
"They were unbelievable goals. I didn't think Joshua could score from that angle but I know his qualities. We did something exactly the same in training and today he repeated it. I'm very proud of how he finished it.
"Strikers live for goals. Joshua is not that type of player because he likes to build-up, turn and serve his team-mates. But scoring does give a lot of confidence."
