Manchester United will be able to freshen up their ranks in the January transfer window

Manchester United were active on the recruitment front over the summer. They delved into the market to snap up the likes of Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko, among others, to freshen up their squad. The Red Devils finished down in 15th place in the Premier League table last season.

Ruben Amorim has the chance to bring in some new faces in the January transfer window. He also has the opportunity to let some players head out the exit door as well this winter. That would help free up space and funds in his ranks to pave the way for potential reinforcements.

Manchester United linked with Tino Livramento at Newcastle United

United are being linked with a move for Newcastle United full-back Tino Livramento. According to CaughtOffside, they are admirers of the player. Manchester City and Arsenal have also been credited with an interest in the England international.

Livramento, 23, has made three caps for the Three Lions so far in his career. He was snapped up by the Toon Army back in 2023. The London-born man has since made 90 appearances in all competitions during his time in the North East, 10 of which have come this season.

Newcastle could face a battle to keep hold of him down the line amid attention from elsewhere. He rose up through the academy at Chelsea and was a regular for his former team at various different youth levels but didn’t play at all for their first-team. Southampton snapped him up on a permanent basis in 2021 and he went on to feature on 34 occasions for their senior team before the Magpies swooped in for his signature and he hasn’t looked back since.

Manchester United should propose swap deal for Newcastle United man

United could see Livramento as someone to bolster their defensive department. If he joined, he would give them more competition and depth at the back. He is still young and has the capacity to grow and develop further down the line.

In an attempt to beat rivals like City and Arsenal to his services, they should propose a player swap deal plus cash to Newcastle. Centre-back Ayden Heaven has found opportunities hard to come by at Old Trafford in this campaign. A change of scene would do him good and he wouldn’t be a bad addition for Eddie Howe’s side if they brought him in.

Heaven, 19, is an England youth international and is a promising talent. He would provide the Magpies with a long-term option in defence and is someone who they could develop over the coming years. In the interim period though, he would mainly provide back-up if he went there.

The prospect was on the books at West Ham before switching to Arsenal in 2019. He went on to play once for the Gunners before United landed him in February of this year on a long-term contract. Heaven has since made nine outings with Amorim’s men but has found himself surplus to requirements of late.
