Bryan Mbeumo started the Premier League contest at Selhurst Park and the 26-year-old United summer signing was hooked off in the dying stages of the match.
Ruben Amorim brought Kobbie Mainoo on for the former Brentford star in second-half injury time before United defeated Crystal Palace in a stunning comeback result.
Mbeumo, who left Brentford back in the summer and signed for the Red Devils, has been the Premier League club’s standout performer under Amorim this season.

However, United sparked a comeback in the second half and Joshua Zirkzee produced a sublime finish to cancel out Jean-Philippe Mateta’s first-half opener.
Bruno Fernandes then set up Mason Mount for United’s winner against the Eagles and Ruben Amorim’s men walked away with all three Premier League points.
Speaking after the result at Selhurst Park, United manager Amorim was asked if Bryan Mbeumo was intentionally moving closer to Joshua Zirkzee on the pitch.
Who was Manchester United’s MAN OF THE MATCH vs Crystal Palace?ð¤ð¥
“I didn’t say, ‘Play nearer to Josh,’ but I just said to the players, we need to be more alive,” he said, as per Manchester United’s official website.
“If you are more alive, you are in more places – you are near the ball more often. I think everyone did that.
“But we also need to understand that our opponent was getting tired in the second half.
“When you increase the rhythm and the opponent gets tired a little bit and suffers a goal right away, you feel that we have control of the game.”

Ruben Amorim on what he wanted Man Utd players to do with Joshua Zirkzee in the Crystal Palace match
Amorim stuck with Joshua Zirkzee to lead the frontline on the weekend, despite the striker’s struggles in United’s 1-0 Premier League loss to Everton last Monday.
Zirkzee failed to make an impact in the first half against Palace before the 24-year-old Dutch forward squeezed a finish from a tight angle past Dean Henderson.
Amorim insisted that the Red Devils players were told to bring Zirkzee into the play during the Premier League clash at Selhurst Park on the weekend.
Describe that finish from Joshua Zirkzee in one word…⚽️ð¥
“No, we just wanted everyone to understand the game,” he said.
“I felt in the last 10 minutes of the first half that the opponent was struggling, and that they would struggle in the second half.
“We had that feeling, and we needed to do something to change the way we were playing.
“We tried to change little things in the game – the intensity and the quality in the way we connect, especially Josh [Zirkzee] – he improved a lot the way we played.”
United will now host West Ham at Old Trafford on Thursday evening before the Red Devils travel away to Wolves for their Premier League clash on 8th December.
