Speaking to MUTV pundit Danny Webber, Andy Mitten said: “We’ve been seeing United leading at Spurs and Nottingham Forest and not won those games, so it showed an extra that they managed to see out this game.”

Mitten revealed that he crossed paths with the travelling United fans at Selhurst Park and he noticed the difference in vibe with how they were carrying themselves.

“I can assure you the mood was very different to how they felt at half-time.

“They were singing, Danny, ‘jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way, oh what fun it is to see United to win away.’ And then were punching their hands in the air going, ‘wahey.’ Times 3,000. So, it’s been a while. It’s good to see […].”

Speaking after the Premier League result, United manager Amorim admitted that his side struggled to fight back against Palace’s dominance in the opening 45 minutes.

“Sometimes, it’s a lot of things,” he said, as per Manchester United’s official website.

“The pace of the ball can be better. We need to understand that. All these small details, I think, we improved.

“And when you have one or two plays, the rhythm flows better and you increase everything mentally and physically.”

United will now return to Old Trafford for their next Premier League outing, with the Red Devils hosting West Ham for an 8pm UK kick-off time for their upcoming clash.
