FPL Gameweek 14 Transfer Tips: Two Players to Buy, Hold, & Sell

Just when we thought Palace’s Selhurst fortress required a dragon and three armies to breach, Manchester United casually walked in and handed them their first Premier League home defeat in nine months. A comeback win, seventh in the table, and suddenly United look less like mid-table wallpaper and a little more like that team we must grudgingly monitor again.

Elsewhere, Liverpool remembered what winning feels like — blissfully without Salah, who warmed the bench while FPL managers stared at their teams like forgotten grocery lists. And Arsenal? They benched Saliba(Injury concern), benched their swagger, and benched their chance at three points. Chelsea fought bravely, walked away with a draw, but in doing so watched City snag second place, thanks to a last-gasp winner and a sulking army of 1.1 million Triple-Captain Haaland believers left with two lonely points and a broken heart.

No time to cry into your vice-captain pillow though — Gameweek comes this time midweek! Decisions are everywhere: Senesi and Caicedo suspended, Sarr’s gone missing from fitness reports, and the deadline looms like an impatient bouncer. Deep breaths managers, it’s panic-season already.

So, let’s start with our BUY-HOLD-SELL article for FPL Gameweek 14, sponsored by …. Well, nobody. We are poor, but you can help here if you want 😊

FPL Gameweek 14 Transfer Tips: Two Players to BUY

PS – I am assuming everyone has Haaland in their teams. If not, he is your priority buy

Daniel Muñoz (£6.0m) – DEF, Crystal Palace – 22.8% TSB

FPL Gameweek 14 Transfer Tips: Two Players to BUY- Daniel Munoz

If there was ever a defender screaming “upside”, it’s Muñoz this week. Burnley sit rock-bottom (20th) across almost every defensive-resistance metric you can find — shots conceded, shots in the box, shots on target, big chances allowed, NPxGC, xGC and xCS — you name it, they’re leaking it. Now flip the table, because from GW3 onwards Muñoz isn’t just attacking for fun, he’s leading the league for it. Among defenders he ranks 1st for Shots on Target and xGI, and 2nd for Shots in the Box, Goal Involvements, xA & FPL Points — a complete résumé for an FPL defender who offers threat with every touch.

And it gets better — Burnley also sit 20th for shots, shots in the box and xG going forward, meaning their frontline bites like a soft marshmallow. That gives Muñoz clean sheet potential, assist potential, maybe even goal potential — a jackpot roll in one fixture. When you combine elite attacking output with the league’s weakest attack — the conclusion writes itself. Muñoz isn’t just a good buy — he’s a near auto-buy this week.

Bruno Fernandes (£8.9m) – MID, Man Utd – 17.0% TSB

FPL Gameweek 14 Transfer Tips: Two Players to BUY- Fernandes

Ignore the occasional chaotic scoreline — Manchester United’s underlying attack is quietly elite. They’re 1st for shots, 3rd for shots on target, 3rd for shots in the box, and 4th for goals scored, meaning the performance is there even when results wobble. At the heart of every chance, spark and transition sits one man — Bruno Fernandes, and his individual numbers prove it beyond debate. Among midfielders, Bruno ranks 1st for xGI, xPts, Key Passes & Bonus Points, 2nd for BPS, and 3rd for Shots, xG & Goal Involvements. Talisman status? Cemented. Influence? Unquestionable.

The next two fixtures sweeten the deal even more. United face West Ham and Wolves, teams ranking 19th & 20th for goals conceded, and 16th & 20th for goals scored — which means attacking upside + clean sheet/bonus ceiling in one tidy bow. With penalties, playmaking dominance and volume on his side, you’re not buying just a midfielder — you’re buying the centre of United’s universe. Bruno feels like the transfer many will make soon — the smart ones do it now.

FPL GW14 Transfer Tips: Two Players to HOLD

Antoine Semenyo (£6.0m) – MID, Bournemouth – 52.5% TSB

FPL Gameweek 14 Transfer Tips: Two Players to Hold- Semenyo

Semenyo being the most transferred-out unflagged midfielder says more about impatience than logic. Yes, the dry spell stretches back to GW9, and yes, frustration is understandable — but the numbers suggest a narrative far less grim. In his last outing he posted an xGI of 0.6, which not only hints that a return was close but also dwarfs other headline assets — Haaland sat at 0.1, and even Bruno with two assists only generated 0.4. That’s variance, not decline. If anything, owners were unlucky, not wrong.

The upcoming schedule is the bigger reason to pause the rage-transfer. Over the next four, Semenyo meets Everton, sitting 14th in the league table, Chelsea — who he already scored against last time they met, Man United with just one clean sheet all season, and Burnley, 20th in every defensive stat that exists. These are fixtures with space, transition opportunities and goal involvement upside written all over them. Selling now could mean shipping him right before the swing breaks in his favour. The data is patient — and managers should be too. Hold.

João Pedro (£7.4m) – FWD, Chelsea – 43.2% TSB

João Pedro sits as the most transferred-out unflagged player this week — but that feels more like FOMO-induced cleanup than good decision-making. The real window to sell was last week; if you still have him, the upside now outweighs the exit. Leeds aren’t exactly a defensive brick wall either — they rank 15th for NPxGC, 16th for xGC, and 17th for Goals Conceded, meaning chances will fall Pedro’s way. Dumping him just before a soft fixture is classic FPL self-sabotage.

And if you needed further reassurance, his numbers among forwards look elite. Pedro is 1st for Big Chances Created, Key Passes and Assists, 2nd for xA & Bonus Points, and 3rd for BPS, FPL points and Goal Involvements. That’s not a profile you sell casually — that’s a profile you grit your teeth and hold. If you’ve stuck through the slow spells, benching, rotation roulette and emotional turbulence this long, it makes little sense to jump ship right before the reward window. You’ve held this far — hold one more week.

FPL GW14 Transfer Tips: Two Players to SELL

Marcos Senesi (£5.0m) – DEF, Bournemouth – 24.7% TSB

FPL Gameweek 14 Transfer Tips: Two Players to Sell- Senesi

Marcos Senesi is the most transferred out player this week and it is easy to see why.

Senesi’s suspension for five yellow cards makes the decision straightforward — he’s unavailable this week, and that alone is enough to justify an exit in a midweek turnaround where every spot matters. But even beyond this single game, the form guide offers little reason to cling on. Bournemouth have managed just one clean sheet since GW6, and when defenders aren’t delivering shut-outs, you need consistent attacking output to compensate. Senesi simply hasn’t provided it.

Over that same period, a staggering 35 defenders have scored more points than him, highlighting how replaceable he has become in FPL terms. With defenders like Muñoz, Timber and O’Reilly offering attacking threat, bonus potential, and cleaner defensive environments, holding a suspended low-ceiling asset becomes an inefficient use of resources. The suspension is the trigger, the underlying numbers are the justification — Senesi is a sell.

Ismaïla Sarr (£6.7m) – MID, Crystal Palace – 11.9% TSB

FPL Gameweek 14 Transfer Tips: Two Players to Sell- Sarr

Ismaïla Sarr’s ankle injury couldn’t have come at a worse time — but more importantly, it’s come with clarity. Oliver Glasner has openly stated that Sarr may not feature again before he departs for AFCON, meaning FPL managers are essentially holding a spot for a player they are unlikely to use. With minutes uncertain and absence almost guaranteed, every week he sits in your squad is one where a more productive asset could be returning points instead.

And even before the injury, the warning signs were loud enough. Sarr hasn’t produced a single goal or assist since GW8, a lengthy drought for someone who was picked for pace, explosiveness and goal threat. No output, no availability, and no short-term upside — the picture is clear. In a period where midweek fixtures stack fast and opportunities widen elsewhere, holding Sarr has more downside than hope. The injury confirmed what the numbers suggested — Sarr is a sell.
