Harry Amass has been one of the standout performers for Sheffield Wednesday this season, having been allowed to join the club from Manchester United in the summer.
The teenager is enjoying a baptism of fire playing men’s football after the EFL allowed Wednesday special dispensation to sign Amass despite being under a transfer embargo.
Amass has been playing on the left flank in a wing-back role under Henrik Pedersen this season, scoring once and claiming one assist from 14 Championship outings.
United will be watching Amass very closely this season, and now the Wednesday boss has shared what he’s been told by people at Old Trafford regarding his loan.

What Manchester United have told Henrik Pedersen about Harry Amass
Given the turmoil currently blighting Sheffield Wednesday, no player can consider their future overly safe, and who knows what the Wednesday squad could look like come January when the window reopens.
After a heartbreaking 3-2 defeat to Preston in which Charlie McNeill missed a penalty, Pedersen was quizzed on Amass and he’s confident that he can remain at Hillsborough.
He told the Sheffield Star: “I know they are very happy, they have to be very happy. He is in a team that has a lot of trust in him and who work very, very seriously with him as part of the team, but also individually.
“He also has a group of fantastic mirrors in the team with the senior players, where he can learn a lot. He is in a good group where he has a big respect around him, and we have a big respect for Man United, giving us the possibility to sign him.

“I hope we can continue to work with him after January. He’s developing well, and I can’t see any reason why he wouldn’t still be with us.”
Sheffield Wednesday handed further six-point deduction
“Sheffield Wednesday FC are to be deducted six points with immediate effect for multiple breaches of EFL regulations relating to payment obligations, with the club’s former owner, Mr Dejphon Chansiri, prohibited from being an owner or director of any EFL club for a period of three years. The sanctions on both the club and Mr Chansiri can be confirmed after the parties reached an agreement on the appropriate sanction which was subsequently ratified by the chair of the appointed independent disciplinary commission.”

Wednesday can get a glimpse into the future with Amass signing
Once the new owner is appointed at Hillsborough, it might not be a case of instantly splashing the cash on new players, and as a result, Amass could be a look into the future.
Next season in League One, Wednesday should have funds to build a new squad but there will also be a sense that the loan market can be a good one to utilise too.
It’s great that Wednesday appears to be getting along well with Manchester United, and if the Red Devils could become some sort of affiliate to the Owls, that would be largely beneficial.
Amass is playing week in and week out at the moment and despite the turmoil surrounding the club, hopefully the game time will be a huge factor in United deciding Amass’ fate in January.
