Manchester United are keeping tabs on Eintracht Frankfurt defender Nathaniel Brown, according to Sky Sport Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg.
The Red Devils could enter the transfer market for a new left wing-back next summer, considering the struggles of Patrick Dorgu and Diogo Dalot this term.
Plettenberg claims that United are one of the clubs monitoring Brown. Eintracht are 100 percent ‘convinced’ that he will leave over the summer.
Eintracht sporting director Markus Krösche is demanding £53-62 million for the German star.
United could invest in a new left wing-back
Manager Ruben Amorim recently highlighted that Dorgu and Dalot are much better in training but are unable to replicate the same in match situations.
The Portuguese tactician highlighted that Dorgu makes him feel anxious, and the 21-year-old plays much better when on international duty with Denmark.
Hence, the Red Devils could seek a fresh solution. Luke Shaw can play in the role, but it would represent a risk in the long run, given his injury record. A higher workload could hamper him.
Harry Amass has been flourishing in his loan spell at Sheffield Wednesday in the Championship, but the step up to the Premier League is not always the easiest.
If Amorim were to seek a new signing, Brown could come into the picture as a potential target.
The 22-year-old is primarily a left-back, but has operated occasionally as a left wing-back for Eintracht.
He has registered four goal contributions from 18 appearances, and has impressed with other attributes.
The German has won four duels per game alongside two tackles and three recoveries.
The asking price is obviously on the higher side. United may not pay over the odds. They could be interested if the player can be signed for £30-35 million.
