Man Utd defender Leny Yoro was visibly upset after being substituted early in the second half of the 2-1 win over Crystal Palace at the weekend.
The 20-year-old had a difficult game, making several mistakes, including giving away the penalty for the Eagles’ opening goal.
Yoro was clearly very disappointed with his performance, but supporters on X have been positive in their reaction, with most urging him to learn from the game and use it as fuel to improve:

Sometimes we forget that he's only 20 years old. He will bounce back ❤️🔴

Yoro definitely have some development opportunities but he's only 20 and aside from the penalty giveaway I actually thought he had a solid enough performance. Made some vital plays

He's a 20 year old CB playing regularly for Manchester United, and it doesn't help that we are incredibly unstable. We have a lot of problems but Leny Yoro is certainly not one of them.

It was just a one-off mistake. I think he will do well for us, he's got the tools.

It's not his fault….we can't provide him a platform he deserve…..he will be back big time. One of the best

Yoro has had an erratic season
The Frenchman came to Old Trafford with a big reputation but it does take time to adapt to the Premier League, and while he has shown a lot of promise, the Palace performance demonstrates that there are still things he needs to get better at.
Every young player has growing pains, and Yoro is definitely having some issues with consistency this campaign, which is not unexpected. His mentality will be important to reaching the next stage of his development.
Will the Man Utd defender start against West Ham?
While head coach Ruben Amorim may be tempted to drop Yoro on Thursday night, he may not have that option available. Harry Maguire is still on the treatment table, while Lisandro Martinez is suited to the left-hand side of the back three, not the right.
In any case, it would be harsh to bench the youngster after one poor game. He will be looking to bounce back against the Hammers later this week.
