Premier League legend Alan Shearer has lavished high praise on one Manchester United player’s superb performance against Crystal Palace ahead of Mason Mount.
Mason Mount returned to the Manchester United starting XI on Sunday afternoon and the former Chelsea ace had a real impact for the Red Devils in their clash.
Jean-Philippe Mateta sent Red Devils No 1 Senne Lammens the wrong way from the spot-kick in the first half to put Crystal Palace 1-0 up over United at Selhurst Park.

However, United rallied back against Palace in the second half after Joshua Zirkzee netted a key equaliser for the Red Devils from a Bruno Fernandes free-kick.
Mount then added his name to the scoresheet by putting United into the lead, with his effort proving to be the difference-maker in the Premier League clash.
Bruno Fernandes took a quick free-kick and laid the ball off to Mount, who proceeded to fire a low strike into the bottom corner of Dean Henderson’s net.

Alan Shearer snubs Mason Mount and picks Bruno Fernandes for his Premier League Team of the Week
Mason Mount completed his first full 90 minutes under Ruben Amorim this season after Manchester United’s performance against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
The 26-year-old England international put in a strong showing for United and helped fill the void left behind by Matheus Cunha’s recent injury setback.
Despite Mount’s impact in Sunday’s Premier League clash, Alan Shearer turned his attention to Bruno Fernandes for the role that the United captain played on Sunday.

“He set up both goals for Joshua Zirkzee and Mason Mount with a couple of clever free-kicks.”

Bruno Fernandes dropped a powerful verdict on Man Utd’s second-half performance against Crystal Palace in the 2-1 win
Speaking after Sunday’s Premier League clash, Fernandes insisted that the Red Devils showed their class with their sensational comeback display against Palace.
“It was massive [the result],” he told MUTV, as per Manchester United’s official website.
“We needed the three points after the performance and the result we had last week.
“We needed a response very quickly. I think [the] first half was not great for us, but the second half was a very big response.”
United suffered a 1-0 defeat to 10-man Everton at Old Trafford last Monday before returning to winning ways over Palace in their recent Premier League clash.
