West Ham will be aiming to return to winning ways when they visit Old Trafford to take on Manchester United in the Premier League.
After losing 2-0 to Liverpool over the weekend, the Hammers face another tough test against Ruben Amorim’s side, who have shown improvement in recent weeks, losing just once in their last seven league matches.
West Ham will be without injured Crysencio Summerville and suspended Lucas Paqueta for the contest, meaning the rest of the squad will have to step up in the absence of two key players.
Paqueta’s absence in midfield could offer head coach Nuno Espirito Santo a chance to try something different, and the Portuguese tactician would certainly surprise his opposition if he picked James Ward-Prowse to exploit one of Man United’s vulnerabilities.
Espirito Santo Should Recall Ward-Prowse

In recent weeks, Espirito Santo has given opportunities to several players cast aside under Graham Potter, including both Andy Irving and Luis Guilherme.
However, the Portuguese tactician has yet to make a U-turn on James Ward-Prowse after freezing him out of the squad following his arrival at the London Stadium two months ago.
The former Southampton midfielder has yet to be included in a matchday squad since Espirito Santo took charge, but, considering their upcoming test at Old Trafford, Wednesday may be the ideal occasion to welcome Ward-Prowse back to the squad.
The 'amazing' England international is known as one of the Premier League’s best free-kick takers, and his presence could help West Ham exploit one of Man United’s vulnerabilities from dead-ball situations.

Espirito Santo Questioned Over Ward-Prowse
West Ham United manager Nuno Espirito Santo
When recently asked what Ward-Prowse must do to earn a place in his side, Espirito Santo said every decision he makes is for the benefit of the club:
“All the players are committed, working hard. It's not an easy situation, but believe me, making the squad and deciding is tough. But we decide for the best.”
Questioned over West Ham’s plans for January, which could involve the midfielder leaving, Nuno was tight-lipped:
“Now is not the moment.
“I think when we have to sit down is when the window opens. But the club has all the tools that they need.”
