Wilcox has since ascended to the position of director of football under Ineos after a shake-up behind the scenes involving Dan Ashworth and Sir Dave Brailsford.
According to The Daily Mail, the United director of football was spotted in a positive mood alongside Red Devils chief operating officer Collette Roche after the match.
The newspaper added that Wilcox had ‘repeated’ the same message of ‘trust the process,’ which has been a ‘consistent’ slogan that he has echoed around United.
