Expect Bryan Mbeumo to dominate West Ham, Man Utd star's incredible record proves why

Manchester United must lean on Bryan Mbeumo to help beat West Ham at Old Trafford on Thursday evening.

The Red Devils are looking to build on their Crystal Palace victory and make it five wins in their last eight Premier League matches when they face West Ham.

United’s record against West Ham is terrible and Ruben Amorim criticised his players last season when they suffered defeat to the Hammers at Old Trafford. This time around, he will expect major improvement.

A lot has changed since the last Premier League meeting between the two sides, including Nuno Espirito Santo taking charge of the London outfit.

United also spent the summer overhauling their attack, including a £65m deal for Bryan Mbeumo. The 26-year-old’s record against West Ham proves why he will be a key player on Thursday.

Bryan Mbeumo has a fantastic record vs West Ham

United signed Bryan Mbeumo to add goals to Amorim’s squad, and he has delivered on that front. This season, Mbeumo is United’s top scorer with six goals in all competitions.

Fans should be confident about Mbeumo extending his goal tally on Thursday evening given his impressive record against West Ham.

As per Transfermarkt, Mbeumo has faced West Ham seven times in his career and remains unbeaten against them with six wins and one draw.

In those seven matches, he has scored four goals and registered one assist.

His most recent goal against West Ham came last season when he scored within the first minute to give Brentford a lead at home. Amorim will be hoping for a similar outcome at Old Trafford.

How Man United’s attack should line up vs West Ham

It is no secret that Amorim will stick to his 3-4-2-1 formation against West Ham on Thursday, but there are plenty of decisions to make in terms of who will start.

Matheus Cunha is back available after recovering from his injury, meaning he could make his first start since the 2-2 draw with Tottenham.

However, Joshua Zirkzee and Mason Mount scored against Crystal Palace to rescue three points at Selhurst Park on the weekend. Both players will hope to retain their starting spot against West Ham.

Mbeumo is nailed on to start as the right-sided No.10, while Zirkzee, Mount and Cunha will have to battle it out for the remaining two spots.

Cunha could start centrally, which would make space for Mount on his favoured left side. With United expected to dominate possession, having a mobile and technically gifted front three could help to break down the West Ham defence.
