Matheus Cunha sends message to Man Utd fans ahead of return from injury vs West Ham

Manchester United’s squad is set to be reinforced by the return of Matheus Cunha this week against West Ham.

The Brazilian has been a notable absentee for Manchester United during the past two games, with Ruben Amorim’s side struggling to create much going forward from open play.

Matheus Cunha’s role of taking the ball and making magic happen has been missing, with nobody in the squad capable of replicating his quality, with Bryan Mbeumo suffering from his absence.

However, now Cunha has recovered from the head injury he suffered in advance of facing Everton. This led to Amorim confirming that Cunha would return against West Ham.

Cunha was back at Carrington training, and his return will be a big boost to the Red Devils’ offensive options, which haven’t managed an open play goal in the two games without the Brazil international.

Whether Cunha starts or not against West Ham, his return will be key, and he has now confirmed he’s raring to go.

Mason Mount has earned the starting role for Manchester United

However, one position that should not change is Mason Mount as the starting left-sided 10, as the Englishman has definitely earned his place in the starting line-up.

Mount was great against Palace, scoring an excellent goal for United and continuing his impressive campaign to date, and this should keep Cunha from taking his place.

However, if Cunha is to start, he should be the number nine instead, replacing Joshua Zirkzee, who just is not a striker, no matter how good that finish was against Palace.
