“But then you look at the table and everyone is like two points behind, one week, everything can change.
“I think the best way of doing things, especially with our team, is to focus just on the next game. If we win the next game, we’ll maintain the position, at least.
“To go in the position of Champions League for next week? Yes, it’s realistic. The future? I don’t know. So, I just want to say I want to continue near that position next week and then the rest, we’ll see.”
Ruben Amorim refuses to get carried away at Man United
Amorim has been accused of being overly honest and transparent during his first year at United, and he has been the first to admit it has been a huge learning curve.
The defeats to Grimsby and Everton this season have left Amorim scratching his head at United’s baffling inconsistency and complacency problems.
As a result, Amorim refuses to get carried away or look too much into the future. The Premier League table is incredibly tight and a three-game run can change everything at this stage.

While fans can afford to look ahead at favourable fixtures and start dreaming of climbing the table, it’s Amorim’s job to keep him and his players grounded and fully focused.
European qualification will be the target, but ultimately, Amorim is focused on winning the next game.
